You don’t have to feel this way forever.

Adults in Transition

Particularly for women and AFAB people, coming to terms with an adult diagnosis of ADHD can be more layered than a tower of onions. If you have discovered a medication that helps, you may feel joy, relief, and renewed hope. At the same time, you may discover a deep well of grief, anger, and disappointment for all that might have been.

Adults often go through a long period of reviewing their own autobiography, seeing for the first time all the ways they struggled without understanding why, and the places where people and systems might have recognized what was happening sooner.

I can help you integrate these new understandings of yourself and your life, grieve what needs grieving, and move into the next chapter with courage.

Adults in Transition

Major changes in the structure of our lives—starting or finishing college, job changes, new parenthood or changes in family configuration, discovering new identities or shedding ill-fitting old ones—can come with fear, grief, and a profound sense of destabilization, even when they also feel exciting. The end of a relationship can feel like your world has caved in around you.

We will look back on the paths you’ve taken, find new meaning in those journeys, and navigate the roads ahead with new purpose.

Adults with Childhood Relational Trauma

As children, we all develop strategies that help us survive, adapt, and understand the people around us.

Many of us become very good at managing life by constantly managing ourselves: minimizing our own needs, relying heavily or exclusively on ourselves, or building walls around our feelings. Sometimes we learn to manage everyone else, becoming hyper-vigilant for any negative feelings we might provoke in others and trying to make sure no one ever feels bad.

Some of us win the lottery and learn to do both.

They’re effective strategies… Until they’re not.

I can help untangle how you learned to defend yourself from feelings and needs (your own, or others’) and work toward a richer experience of yourself, the people you love, and life beyond the walls.
